Balcony Fire Hose Deployment

The balcony or narrow entry platform of a low rise building, a factory or mixed retail/residential building is a great access tool for fire fighters.

But with the added delays of managing hose up a ladder often see fire fighters choose the stairs over the balcony

Obstacles/Complications

QuickLay Solution

  • Fire fighting operations can be delayed due to complications of laying and dragging hose up ladders and over the balcony edge
  • If it's safe to do so, the Attack Pack can be carried up to the balcony with a length of hose already connected. The fire fighter can then place the Attack Pack on the balcony floor and charge the full lengh.
  • If the balcony is involved in fire, the fire fighter can deploy the Attack Pack at the base of the ladder and while the fire fighter still needs to carry the lenght up to the balcony, it will be a much easier task with the hose deploying from immediately below.
